It will adapt to climate zones of 1 - 9, which means it can grow from Alaska to California and anywhere in between. It loves sun, but will do fine in shade. It likes water but will tolerate drought. Best of all, it has no problems with poor draining clay soils. It tops out around 2' high and 3' wide. If you do want to prune it wait until the end of winter so you don't lose the wonderful winter color.

The Dwarf Redtwig Dogwood is a wonderful plant with surprisingly different look in winter than in summer. I liken its winter look to a flame and its summer look to a green snowball. It is also extremely versatile.
